Privacy Policy
Shelfready analyses a Shopify store's product catalogue and proposes improvements that make it readable to AI shopping agents. This page describes exactly what data that involves.
What we access
With the write_products scope granted at install, we read and write:
- Product titles, descriptions, vendor, type, tags and SEO fields
- Product categories from Shopify's taxonomy
- Variants: SKU, barcode, price, weight, options and inventory settings
- Product images and their alt text
- Product metafields
What we never access
Shelfready does not request, receive or store customer personal data, orders, payment details or any shopper information. We hold no customer names, email addresses or addresses. This is why our responses to Shopify's customers/data_request and customers/redact webhooks report that there is nothing to return or erase.
What we store, and where
- Your shop domain and the Shopify access token, to authenticate API calls
- Proposed fixes awaiting your review
- A history of applied changes with their previous values, so any change can be undone
Product data is fetched from Shopify at scan time and is not retained beyond what is needed to show you a proposal.
AI processing
To extract structured attributes and suggest a category, product text (title, description, image alt text, existing metafields) is sent to Anthropic's API. No customer data is included, because we never hold any. Anthropic does not train models on API inputs. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
Category assignment and the specifications block are generated without any AI call at all. They are derived from data your store already holds.
Deletion
Uninstalling deletes your session immediately. Shopify then sends a shop/redact request roughly 48 hours later, on receipt of which every proposal, change record and session belonging to your shop is erased. You may also request erasure at any time at the address below.
Your rights under the GDPR
As a merchant in the EU/EEA you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, and to object to processing. Contact us and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
